He can’t be a DJ
This was my first test of using ceiling-mounted Kinects to track people’s position and have animations react to it. It worked, though with some glitches. There were three sullen looking fellows on an 12’ x 8’ projector screen. Wherever you walked, their eyes would follow you. I wrote software to read the position of observers from two Kinects, solved many technical problems, and spotted other things to fix like getting the ambient light under control.
“We Cannot Be DJs” – The title is an explanation for what the three guys are upset about. I couldn’t quite take them seriously, so I figured the reason for their discontent would have to be something middle-aged-angsty like that.
