I do this for legal reasons, yes. But I do it also because some humans are cool in nice little ways, and it’s worth a minor celebration like this blog post. For episode #14, Papabot, the following sounds were licensed from their generous authors.
- “Scrabble” by Sagetyrtle used for all of the great Scrabble noises. Tiles mixing in the box, wooden racks set on the tabletop, tiles being placed on the board. There was only one sample for Scrabble on freesound, but it had everything I could ask for.
- Several metal smashing samples by Joel Azzopardi used for somebody beating up a robot.
- “Sleigh bells twisted” by Dave in Camas used for the sound of a group of nanites getting into people’s brains.
- “Cloud Factory” by Ezra C. Fike combined with the above sample for same purpose.
- Light crate smashing by Srehpog combined with some guitar fumbling and the sample below to create the sound of a smashing guitar.
- “Wood destruction” by Keith W. Blackwell used as part of the smashing guitar noise.
- “Juich 2” by Fons which is a crowd cheering noise for the phone call to Iceland.
- “Audience Cheering” by unchaz used for the same crowd cheering a second time. (Can’t just use the exact same cheer sound again!)
- “In a bar” by Andriala used for ambient bar noise.
