Part of me is grouchy about this multi-homedness. Hey, I got a website and I know how to put all sorts of software on it. But the peoples are camped out on Facebook and Google+ and Twitter and Tumblr and Pinterest and Reddit and…
In fact, this post is extremely unlikely to be read by more than ten people.
I like G+. It’s a pleasant combination of Facebook and Twitter features.
Facebook is crappy for getting people in one group of friends to discover and try other people, things, groups. It’s a good complement to your real world social activity.
Twitter, on the other hand, is great for getting people to try other people. Everybody following everybody. Drop in a hashtag and it adds your message to other places. But it’s designed for people with short attention spans, and the limited communication bugs me. So many tweets I’ve read where I just wished the author could type in a few more sentences.
